Melbourne Business School classmates to reconnect at Alumni Reunion 2020
Melbourne Business School alumni will return to campus next month to celebrate the start of a new decade – and they'll have plenty to talk about.
Running across 21–22 February 2020, this year's Alumni Reunion will bring former classmates together to reminisce, reconnect and catch up with faculty and the alumni community.
"In 2020, our alumni are going to celebrate the decade that was as they hear from a range of excellent speakers," says Sarah Jowett, Melbourne Business School's new Alumni Relations Manager and the event organiser.
"We have Australia's foremost technology leader Wendy Stops, Matthijs van der Putten, the chief marketing officer at L'Oréal Australia and New Zealand, and many other industry leaders stopping by."
The reunion will see more than 200 alumni make their way back to campus to see what has changed and enjoy thought leadership from faculty and industry leaders.
"Friday evening's cocktail reception will have a bright and bold circus theme and will include a dessert grazing table and a selection of themed foods and drinks," Sarah says.
"We've also added a celebratory milestone dinner on Saturday night in The Hub, which will be a first."
Melbourne Business School Dean Ian Harper will open the weekend with an update on the School before other sessions begin, including presentations from Biodesign Innovation stars Navi Medical Technologies, as well as Judo Bank co-founder Joseph Healy, who is speaking on culture, social licence and purpose.
"I'm excited about the reunion's two-day program. It's filled with a mix of our faculty members and high-calibre industry leaders," Sarah says.
"Personally, I'm looking forward to hearing from Country Road CEO Scott Fyfe and his insights into the ever-changing retail industry.
"This will be my third Alumni Reunion and, of course, a highlight is always the cocktail reception. It's just going to be fantastic."
