The Centre for Sustainability and Business has launched five fellowships to give incoming MBA students financial support for their studies while working on sustainability-related projects.

The fellowships provide financial support of up to A$10,000 and unique work experience opportunities of up to 250 hours per student.

Each fellowship will focus on a sustainability-related project, designed to grow students’ understanding, experience and professional network.

Successful applicants will contribute to the success of the Centre for Sustainability and Business, while boosting their resumes and making a positive impact in the world.

The fellowships are available to applicants of Melbourne Business School’s Full-time MBA program, who don't have to wait to be formally accepted into the MBA program to show their interest in a fellowship.

Full-time MBA applicants can apply for a fellowship on the Centre for Sustainability and Business Fellowship's page before Tuesday, 31 May 2022, 11:59pm AEDT.

The fellowships are open to all incoming Full-time MBA candidates (domestic and international) in our September 2022 intake. Five placements are available, with project work to commence from 2023.

“The fellowships are an important way to engage students and give them first-hand exposure to the changing role of sustainability for businesses,” said Professor Glenn Hoetker, the centre’s director and Melbourne Business School Foundation Chair of Sustainability and Business.

“Core to the centre’s strategy is treating sustainability as a business issue. So, we hope to attract fellows with diverse backgrounds. Prior experience related to sustainability is great, of course, but we are equally excited to work with fellows who want to apply their experience in other areas of business to the multi-faceted challenge of sustainability."

The Centre for Sustainability and Business exists at Melbourne Business School to unleash leaders and ideas for an environmentally sustainable future. It focuses on the relationship between humans and nature, climate change, emissions reduction, waste and the circular economy, as well as biodiversity conservation.
