Female leaders improve workplace safety records

Research by Melbourne Business School Professors Leon Zolotoy and Don O'Sullivan has found that companies with female executives have significantly stronger workplace safety records.

Published in the Journal of Management Studies in December last year, the study was conducted in collaboration with researchers at Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong. The researchers analysed workplace safety violations data from over 1000 publicly traded U.S companies over a 19-year period and found a link between female leadership and fewer recorded violations.
