Organisations are investing heavily in AI, yet many are struggling to realise meaningful business value.

The challenge is no longer access to technology. It is leadership capability.

Melbourne Business School’s new course Leading Strategically with AI sets out to meet this capability gap by equipping senior executives and leaders with the frameworks, tools and confidence to move from AI experimentation to enterprise-wide adoption.

Professor Jon Whittle from the Melbourne Business School’s Institute for Digital Innovation and AI is the Program Director, bringing more than 30 years’ experience at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence, including leadership roles at NASA, CSIRO’s Data 61 and Australia’s National AI Centre. He is also the author of ‘AI for Business: A Guide to AI Adoption'.

’“AI is the most disruptive technology of our time, yet many organisations are still working to move from isolated pilots to enterprise-wide AI adoption at scale,” he said.

“The differentiator is leadership. This program equips executives with the mindset, frameworks and confidence to lead that transformation.”

AI strategy for executives

The AI leadership course at Melbourne Business School has been designed for executive teams and transformation leaders (both technical and non-technical), seeking a shared approach to AI strategy and implementation.

“As organisations continue to increase their investment in AI, there is a growing need to be able to realise and demonstrate real business value,” Professor Whittle said.

“Leaders are suddenly expected to be able to make strategic decisions about AI investments without necessarily having the skills or tools they need.

“This course has been designed to address this challenge directly.”

Participants will learn how to build executive AI capability, strengthen strategic alignment, improve AI investment decisions, establish governance frameworks and accelerate organisational readiness for AI adoption.

The course will be offered in both online (five weeks) and in-person (three days) formats.
