Financial Times names Melbourne Business School MBA among worlds best for entrepreneurship

Melbourne Business School has been ranked by the Financial Times as home to one of the top three MBA programs for entrepreneurship in the Asia–Pacific region.

The 2017 Top 50 MBAs for Entrepreneurship ranked the Melbourne Business School MBA third in the region and 38th in the world.

Analysis of the FT rankings data showed that the School’s entrepreneurial alumni were highly motivated to start their business while studying and had strong foundation and recruitment support from the School and their fellow alumni.

Melbourne Business School Dean Zeger Degraeve said the result was a strong endorsement for the School, which is consistently ranked as one of the world’s top MBA programs.

“This result is tremendous recognition of our School’s success in developing the skills, knowledge and networks our students need to succeed in their post-MBA life,” Professor Degraeve said.

“This ranking result is a terrific endorsement of our world-class teaching and the strength of our global alumni community, which has more than 17,000 members in more than 95 countries.

“It is also the latest international ranking where Melbourne Business School has achieved strong performance during the past 18 months, demonstrating that our high-quality business education programs are among the world’s best.”

Melbourne Business School has a long history of producing entrepreneurial alumni, including:

Mr Hosking has previously noted that his MBA was essential to his success in growing Redbubble from a start-up to an ASX-listed company with a market capitalisation of over $200 million.

“For me, doing my MBA at Melbourne Business School was a real opportunity to open up options which I would never have otherwise considered,” Mr Hosking said.
