After completing her first full year as Dean of Melbourne Business School, Jenny George is focused on continuing to build a global community of leaders driving better businesses for a sustainable future.

In my first full year as Dean, I recognised what makes Melbourne Business School so special is our connected community.

There is no other place in Australia where so many organisational leaders, so consistently, come together around shared challenges.

Our students, alumni, donors and partners feel a sense of belonging when they walk through our doors.

We believe leaders matter: that they have the strongest influence on the culture, direction and success of an organization.

We believe good leaders matter: that leaders who are skilled, competent and driven by moral purpose will deliver long-term value.

Whether it's corporate reputation, climate change, AI or diversity, our students are at the forefront to lead better businesses.

We're proud to again be ranked the number 1 MBA in Australia according to the QS Global MBA Rankings.

We're also number 1 for our Master of Business Analytics.

And we ranked first for research in the AFR BOSS Rankings.

Research is crucial to our cutting-edge business education and is the reason we continue to be the leading business school in Australia.

As we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our Master of Business Analytics program, we celebrated the graduates making an impact at companies like Microsoft, Canva, Apple and Amazon.

We're also excited to have launched a new part-time Master of Applied Business Analytics course for busy professionals looking to upskill and develop data expertise.

In our executive education we are proud of our New CEO program, designed by our Chairman, Ken MacKenzie, catering to the unique challenges ASX150 CEOs.

We have custom designed learning programs for some of the biggest corporates in Australia and overseas – giving them a competitive advantage in developing their leaders.

In our short courses we launched programs in generative AI, culturally conscious leadership and emerging social purpose leaders developed by our new social purpose centre.

The centre, established with support from the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust, is helping not-for-profits and social enterprises grow their social impact and financial sustainability.

This year we reached our own sustainability milestone and I’m proud to say we are now 100% powered by renewable energy.

In our education offering, our centre for Sustainability and Business delivered online training to more than 8,000 NAB bankers to help customers adapt to climate change.

This year we announced a $20 million partnership with BHP towards our shared vision for an economically powerful Indigenous Australia.

These funds help our Indigenous leadership centre Dilin Duwa to scale their Indigenous business research, education and community engagement.

Our alumni are at the heart of our community, and I've personally travelled to Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore and Sydney to connect with these chapters.

Next year we have more connections planned, keep an eye out for a relaunch of the alumni chapters and official milestone reunions.

Whether you're an alum, student, donor or partner - thank you for being part of our community.

It's this connected network that makes Melbourne Business School so special.

Wishing you a wonderful break - with friends, family and loved ones over the holiday season.
