Melbourne Business School moves up Financial Times Global MBA ranking

Melbourne Business School has been named by the Financial Times as among world’s top-three business schools for marketing while also jumping 11 places in the FT’s 2017 Global MBA ranking to be now ranked 76.

Our Dean, Zeger Degraeve, welcomed today’s news, noting Melbourne Business School was among the top-10 most-improved schools.

“This result follows our top-10 international MBA ranking by BloombergBusiness Week and top-20 international ranking by Poets and Quants in December last year and confirms that Melbourne Business School is among the top one per cent of MBA programs worldwide,” Professor Degraeve said.

“To also be named by FT as one of the world’s top-three schools for marketing is a tremendous achievement, and demonstrates the passion and commitment of our world-class marketing faculty.”

Professor Degraeve said investments at the School since 2012, such as implementing a one-year MBA program, enhancing the careers service to better support graduates, increasing the quality of MBA candidates and boosting the School’s faculty and research focus, were starting to pay dividends.

“Our focus on ensuring we offer the highest-quality business education experience is reflected in the quality of our graduates,” Professor Degraeve said.

“Since 2012, the average GMAT score for our Full-Time MBA students has increased from 635 to 705. We’re placing students in careers at leading firms, such as McKinsey, Uber, Microsoft, EY, Intel and Bain & Company, we’ve increased the size of our faculty by 28 per cent, and we’re growing our degree program enrolments.”

“Our students are at the heart of this investment – we want every student to have an excellent Melbourne Business School experience that helps them achieve career success.”
