War, oil shocks and trade restrictions: Macro and Policy Implications for Australia

Drawing on his research in macroeconomics, oil markets, and economic policy, Associate Professor of Econometrics and Statistics Jamie Cross will explore how these distant disruptions affect the price we pay for fuel and groceries, the interest rate on our home loans, what the government can (and can’t) do about it, and the broader implications of these challenges for business leaders.

Following the keynote presentation, Jamie will be joined by alumni Michael Baker (MBA 2014), General Manager, Australia-New Zealand Midstream Infrastructure at BP, Pina Palumbieri (Executive MBA 2018), Chief Operating Officer at Dairy Australia, and Hiti Taluja (Executive MBA 2018), commodities trading and supply chain strategist, for a panel discussion on how these forces are playing out on the ground, in fuel, food and agricultural supply chains.
