The MBS Centre for Social Purpose Organisations invites you to join us for an evening that will unite the MBS community in recognition of the vital role not-for profit and other social purpose organisations play and to shine a light on the extent of the MBS community – students, alumni and partner organisations - that do this important work.
MBS’ Centre for Social Purpose Organisations strives to ensure that business management knowledge is accessible for those working in social purpose organisations.
We aim to establish MBS as Australia’s leading business school for the social purpose sector by creating and sharing knowledge to strengthen the capabilities of not-for-profits and other social purpose organisations. This event is an opportunity for the MBS Community to coalesce around the importance of business management education for social purpose.
All those with a connection with MBS who work in, and support social purpose organisations are invited to attend.

About the Speaker
Roberta Buchanan | CEO Women’s Property Initiatives and MBS Alumna
Roberta Buchanan
Roberta Buchanan is CEO and Company Secretary of Women’s Property Initiatives (WPI), a registered charity and community housing provider that creates new beginnings for women and children experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness.
Roberta has a discipline in Housing Studies from Sheffield Hallam University and an MBA from Melbourne Business School. Roberta is an advocate for affordable housing, gender equality and the advancement of women and girls.
From an early age, she understood the importance of affordable housing as the foundation for happy and healthy lives and has worked in community housing both in Australia, the UK and Ireland for over 30 years. Prior to joining WPI, Roberta was the Executive Director, Housing Solutions at Launch Housing and the Chief Operating Officer at Housing Choices Australia. Roberta is a board member and secretary at Community Housing Industry Association of Victoria.
