Economics Workshop: Competition and Consumer Protection in the Digital Economy

Melbourne Business School and The University of Melbourne are pleased to invite you to a free workshop on “Competition and Consumer Protection in Digital Economy.”
The workshop will feature leading international experts who will delve into the critical challenges facing digital markets. Highlights include:
- An engaging policy panel discussion on “Manipulation, Market Power, and Mergers in Digital Markets.” The panel will be moderated by Professor David Byrne (University of Melbourne) and will include Professor Anthony Dukes, George Siolis (Partner, RBB Economics), Simone Wong (Principal Economist, ACCC), and Dr. Tiffany Tsai.
- A keynote address, “Fooled by Choice? Marketing, Self-Deception, and Consumer Protection,” delivered by Professor Anthony Dukes of the University of Southern California. Professor Dukes is an expert in marketing and antitrust, specializing in e-commerce and digital platforms.
- A session on “Platform Self-Preferencing and Information Advantages” by Dr. Tiffany Tsai from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Tsai's research focuses on the role of intermediation and information asymmetry in online retailing and digital platforms.
