Alumni Evenings with Andrew John and Fatima Yousufi

Alumni Evenings will be comprised of five events for 2023, featuring members of our faculty sharing insights on contemporary topics. This will be followed by networking drinks, canapes and the opportunity to take professional headshots for those joining the event in person.

Melbourne Business School was delighted to have hosted the second Alumni Evenings event with Professor Andrew John and Fatima Yousufi, on Thursday 25 May.

During the evening, Professor Andrew John was joined by Fatima Yousufi for a conversation about leadership in the face of adversity and how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Fatima Yousufi is a trailblazer and a true inspiration. As a 21-year-old soccer player, she has not only honed her skills on the field, but she has also used her platform to advocate for women’s rights.

In August 2021, when Kabul fell to the Taliban, the players on the Afghan Women’s Soccer Team managed to escape Afghanistan under extraordinary circumstances and were ultimately welcomed in Australia. The team now plays soccer in Melbourne as the Melbourne Victory Football Club Afghan Women’s Team.

Who can attend these events?

Events such as Alumni Evenings are designed for Melbourne Business School alumni who studied at the campus on 200 Leicester Street, Carlton.
