2020 and 2021 have been an unprecedented period exemplified by dramatic social, economic and cultural disruption. The impact of COVID-19 on Australia’s 600,000 plus social purpose organisations has seen the $146 billion-dollar sector fighting for funding, volunteers and in many cases, survival. Organisations have been impacted by social distancing laws with many having to cease all or some activity. COVID-19 has greatly impacted community organisations' ability to utilise a volunteer workforce, on which they rely to increase capacity and extend their reach.

Helen Macpherson Smith Trust (HMSTrust) and Melbourne Business School (MBS) are delighted to partner and support the recovery of the social purpose sector through the provision of dedicated scholarships across a range of MBS’ short courses. These scholarships will enable our social purpose leaders to gain skills and adapt during this period of disruption and support some of our most critical organisations.
