Donor Report 2015: giving is in our DNA

21/04/2016
Thanks to the generosity of our donors in 2015, Melbourne Business School raised more than $800,000 to support scholarships, awards, research and internships for our talented students and faculty. Melbourne Business School’s Donor Report 2015 shows half of our annual donations came from individuals with one in five donors giving for the first time.

With 2015 marking the 50th anniversary of Australia’s first MBA and the publication of In a Class of Their Own, the book covering Melbourne Business School’s first 60 years, the report celebrates the proud history of giving at MBS and the impact those donations have had on individuals and the broader business community – including inspirational sponsorship winner and former vet and national volleyball champion, Jennifer Day.

The report also notes the passing of John Gough, a Melbourne business icon and one of the Five Johns at MBS who helped raise $17 million in the 1980s to build our Carlton campus. John sat on the boards of many of Australia’s top companies, including ANZ, Pacific Dunlop and BHP, and was an MBS board member for 22 years and our Chairman for 16 years.
