SPORTING CAPITAL

Among all of its artistic and cultural credentials, Melbourne is also undoubtedly Australia’s sporting capital. Across the year, the city plays host to major events such as the Australian Open Tennis, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the glamorous Melbourne Cup Carnival. Melbourne is also the birthplace of Australian Rules Football (AFL).

EASY TO GET AROUND

Melbourne has a fantastic public transport system that is reliable and easy to navigate. Trams, buses and trains operate throughout the city and its suburbs and can take you from the mountains of the Dandenong Ranges to the beaches of St Kilda.
