Brooke Miller joins Board of Melbourne Business School
Two decades after graduating from Melbourne Business School, one of our most successful alumni is returning to help shape its future.
Brooke Miller is Vice President of Castrol Asia-Pacific and a State Director at agricultural systems biology research centre AgriBio, which focuses on advanced research to improve productivity, fight disease and reduce environmental impact in Victoria's agricultural sector.
She's also a familiar face at Melbourne Business School, having completed her MBA as a member of the Class of 2000 and served on the Centre for Business Analytics Advisory Board since 2015.
This month, Brooke will join the Board of Melbourne Business School to help secure the future success of a new generation of students.
"Completing my MBA at Melbourne Business School completely changed my life, offering new frameworks for thinking, a different professional pathway and broader career opportunities," Brooke says.
"I am honoured and energised to be a part of the Board focused on enhancing those opportunities for future students."
Brooke began her career as a landscape architect and town planner, after studying a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Melbourne.
After obtaining her MBA, Brooke changed tack and pursued a career in sales, marketing and finance at BP, where she became Regional Director for BP Solar and then Vice President for Sales and Marketing. She also spent several years as Chief Financial Officer for Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.
"Choosing Melbourne Business School has certainly had an incredibly positive impact on my life long after I left it," Brooke says.
"The calibre of teaching, the range of subjects, the diverse student body and opportunity to learn from peers, the facilities and the links to the business community – all those attributes made it hard to match, and I remain delighted with my choice.
"The lessons, the associations and the friendships built during study have been a guiding pathway for all the years since graduation."
In joining the Board, Brooke hopes to bring her perspective as an alumni, an employer of MBA graduates and a leader with expertise in both digital and "bricks and mortar" businesses to guide the future direction of the School.
"I very much look forward to working with the Board to ensure Melbourne Business School remains at the forefront of thought leadership and business and prepares graduates for a diverse and challenging career," she says.

"Her perspective allows us to remain deeply connected and relevant to industry and ensures our alumni continue to have a voice in the School's direction."
Brooke is one of several Melbourne Business School Board members who are also alumni, including Cameron Leitch (MBA Class of 2007) and Frank Zipfinger (Executive MBA Class of 2003).
She is also a member of Chief Executive Women and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Brooke's appointment comes after the School announced that Rebecca McGrath, one of Australia’s most respected directors, will also join the Board this month.
