Each year, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of a group of diverse and high-calibre students from the Melbourne Business School (MBS) Analytics Program. These students consistently impress us with their ability to tackle complex challenges and provide valuable insights. There is no problem that is too tough for them to solve! The MBS A-lab experience is a fantastic opportunity for both students and industry partners, and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership.

Empowering C-suite executives with profound, actionable insights through comprehensive data analytics training, delivered by an exceptional speaker who masterfully translates complex concepts into clear strategic advantages. The L'Oréal ANZ Management Committee left embracing the future and in the three years that followed drove several advanced analytics predictive use cases that contributed to the best ever results of the organisation three years in a row.
RODRIGO PIZZARO
Chief Transformation Officer, L'Oréal SAPMENA

REA Group has hosted MBS Master of Business Analytics students for the past two years and we are continuously impressed with their contribution and analytics skills. Most recently, our A-Lab group helped to prepare an Off-Market Rental Analysis Project, which generated strategic insights and areas of opportunity for our REA product managers, economists, analysts, and other internal stakeholders. The combination of business analytics skills provided by MBS students and industry knowledge from PropTrack’s Data Science team was crucial to the success of this research. In addition to hosting A-Lab students and connecting with high calibre talent through this program, we thoroughly enjoy participating in the centre’s workshop and events, which provide our employees with invaluable data and analytics insights and opportunities to connect with industry peers.

The Industry Analytics Lab
Industry Analytics Labs (A-Lab) involve practical experience for student teams working on a real analytics project for the Centre’s Patrons and Corporate Partners. The five-week project integrates academic learning, practical challenges in implementing data analytics in an organisation, employability skills and attributes, and an improved knowledge of organisations, workplace culture, and career pathways. For our partners, the A-Lab offers a unique opportunity to harness the innovative thinking and advanced analytics capabilities of Melbourne Business School students. Companies gain fresh perspectives and tailored solutions to their business challenges while benefiting from the latest tools, techniques, and methodologies in data analytics. The collaboration provides companies with early access to emerging analytics talent, enabling them to evaluate potential recruits in a live project environment. This partnership not only drives organisational value but also strengthens workplace culture and innovation by integrating new ideas and expertise into business processes.
