Case Challenge Question

What opportunities and risks can Jetstar identify by looking at significant diaspora within major Australian capital cities, their travel propensity to and from foreign markets within Asia Pacific, and forecasts for growth over the coming 1-5 years?

  • This would include analysis of Australian city resident population and postcode wealth data, compared with international markets serviced by air schedules. (Jetstar can provide ABS data sets and airline schedule information, O&D Passenger info (DDS) and proprietary postcode booking information)
  • How might this change in the future, looking at population growth and net migration forecasts, coupled with AU and overseas economic growth rates?
  • By using the findings from this data, what strategies could Jetstar (and synergistic industries, such as the tertiary education sector) pursue to grow these opportunities (such as potential new routes, industry partnerships, community-based advertising (e.g. micro level social geo-targeting), etc.

Please note: Additional case data will be provided at the Information session on Friday 21 July.
