The School is also home to the Centre for Business Analytics, which addresses the growing need for research and teaching in business analytics. The Centre’s influential Industry Advisory Board provides linkages into industry, and is pivotal to the success of the School’s initiatives in business analytics.
The most significant of these initiatives is the Master of Business Analytics (MBusA) program, which is a selective, innovative and intensive program, first delivered 3 years ago.  Reporting to the Associate Dean, Degree Programs, the Academic Director position is responsible for the academic leadership and management of the MBusA program, including the content and delivery of curriculum and the lifecycle of students from prospects to alumni.
Working within the School’s matrix structure, your key result areas include:
  • Ensuring that the design and content of the program meets world class standards
  • Assisting the Career Management Centre to achieve placement targets for graduates
  • Providing the marketing team with insights and content aimed at attracting and converting prospective students
  • Actively exploring and developing new academic initiatives in analytics across the School

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience both in teaching postgraduate students and in leading programs.
To be successful, you will be comfortable in a matrix reporting structure and will have exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to coordinate multiple functions and liaise with faculty members, students, the School’s leadership, and faculty from other departments of the University of Melbourne.
A PhD and/or appropriate work experience in one or more of the following areas is required: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
